Its All About Blue              Arts Self Portrait              One Sure Thing              Just Expect It

At Hanes Performance Horses we are all about making things reasonable for the mare owners and
due to the declining economy we are now lowering our stud fees from $950 to $750.

Hanes Performance Horses is owned and operated by The Hanes family. Horses have been a family affair from the time Whitney and Taylor started riding their first pony "Toby" at age five. Taylor knew from that time he wanted horses to be a big part of his life. The Hanes family showed horses together growing up and Taylor attended his first Quarter Horse Congress in 1993 with his parents. During this time, Taylor discovered stallion avenue and was amazed by all of the studs. One he especially liked visiting from year to year was Rugged Lark. At that time it would have been a dream for Taylor to have a stallion on Stallion Avenue. The decision was made one day by Taylor that he wanted to purchase a stud prospect. In the Summer of 2000 he crossed paths with a big beautiful bay yearling stud colt sired by Artful Move and owned by Rick and Heidi Cecil. The Hanes family purchased Arts Self Portrait from Rick and Heidi and little did Taylor know that this would lead to stallion avenue in 2004 and after the passing of the legendary Rugged Lark, Carol Harris is now breeding mares to Arts Self Portrait. This all came by surprise because Arts Self Portrait aka "Stretch" was severely injured as a weanling and was never supposed to show. However, Stretch grew into his injury and was able to compete to acquire his ROM for his full QH papers. Taylor took a chance on him and his dream came true for the young colt that he couldn't keep his eyes off of.

Since the surprise this stallion has brought for them, Taylor now really enjoys the underdog situations with great horses that didn't get a fair chance to succeed. In 2006 Patti Robertson, a top AQHA judge, trainer, and breeder, called Taylor to let him know that she had a 4 year old stallion called "Its All About Blue". He was injured as a two year old and didn't get shown much due to an injury. The Robertson's partnered this colt with Taylor and he finished Its All About Blue's ROM for breeding purposes. Taylor says this horse "Blue" and "Stretch" are two of the most natural movers he has ever worked with. He also says that if it wasn't for their natural movement because of their injuries, they might have never made it to show. It just came natural for both of them and that made the training process easy. Taylor also says that he has a new project! His name is One Sure Thing. This young stallion standing at a true 17-3 hands tall has the look, size, disposition, and movement to be another great one. This stallion also had some set backs but with a lot of luck Taylor will make this stallion a success just like the others. The Hanes family is very excited about this new addition and would like to thank Heidi Bailey for making this horse available! Watch for Taylor and One Sure Thing coming soon to an arena near you! The Hanes family would like to thank all of the mare owners who have supported their program the last few years. They are very complimented by the many AQHA judges, top trainers, and top breeders who have chosen to breed to their stallions.
